Summer Training Opportunities
Summer training is one of the most exciting opportunities available through the Army Cadet Program. Each summer, eligible cadets from 2967 Brussels Army Cadets may have the opportunity to attend specialized courses at Cadet Training Centres across Ontario and Canada. Depending on their training level and interests, cadets can develop skills in leadership, outdoor expeditions, navigation, survival, marksmanship, fitness, sports, and adventure training, while building confidence, independence and friendships that can last a lifetime.
Summer courses generally range from two to seven weeks, with opportunities becoming more advanced as cadets progress through the program. Course cadets are paid $60 per week while at camp. Transportation, accommodations, meals and health services are provided for cadets attending in-person summer training, making it an accessible experience for families.
Summer training isn't just a camp — it's an opportunity for cadets to discover what they're capable of.

Staff Cadet Opportunities
Staff Cadet Opportunities offer senior Cadets the chance to turn their Cadet experience into a paid summer employment opportunity while developing valuable leadership, instructional, teamwork, and workplace skills.
Cadets who are 16 to 18 years old may apply, provided they meet the required rank and training qualifications. Staff Cadets can spend several weeks at a Cadet Training Centre supporting the training and supervision of younger Cadets, working in areas such as instruction, administration, operations, supply, and leadership.
Employment periods vary depending on the position and location, and Cadets are paid for every day of their employment, including weekends and required travel days. As of June 1, 2026, Staff Cadet pay ranges from $117 to $144 per day, depending on rank—meaning a seven-week position at the FSgt/WO level could provide approximately $5,500 before taxes.
It is an incredible opportunity to gain real employment experience, make lasting friendships, travel, and return to the Corps with stronger leadership skills and experiences that can benefit future education and career opportunities.
Locations include : Blackdown CTC (Borden), Trenton CTC (Trenton), HMCS Ontario (Kingston), and Vernon CTC (Vernon, BC).
